Motivations welcomes Blair Douglas to our team of trainers. We asked Blair to share a little about herself, and her philosophy.
My passion and career in fitness started in 2004 with GoodLife Fitness, where I stayed for over a decade. My most recent experience has been training in a facility in Barbados and I am so excited to be back in Huntsville, where I grew up, to continue my training journey. Over the past 15 years my understanding of the body and mind have been practiced through various certifications. I have hands on experience with a variety of clients and goals from weight loss, to pain reduction, rehab, pre/post natal, stress reduction and much more.
Movement is the basis of our health and longevity and without it we cannot function optimally. My passion is to focus on each person’s journey as each of us has different obstacles to overcome at different points in our lives.
There is nothing more rewarding than to see that dedication and work we put in together improve the quality of life, relationships, health and well-being of my clients.
Motivations welcomes guest instructor Martina Kruger to the Motivations family. Martina will be guiding an 8-week Chakra Flow Yoga that begins September 19th. Martina shared a little about herself with us...
Martina Kruger has been teaching yoga since 2008 and brings to her classes years of experience within yoga and mindfulness. Before graduating with a major in French, Martina studied eastern philosophy and religion and began taking an interest in the practise of yoga and meditation. Since then, Martina has received her Yoga Teacher Training, in addition she has received her certificate of completion in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and completed several Vipassana Meditation courses. Martina has also completed her studies through Mindfulness Without Borders and is a Certified Facilitator of their 12 week program on Mindfulness. Martina’s experience with children as an Educational Assistance has enabled her to run several programs on yoga and mindfulness. Most currently, her work through Integra Young Warriors a martial arts and mindfulness program for children. Her work also extends to running several Professional Development workshops on the practise of mindfulness for colleagues of Trillium Lakelands District School Board. Martina has years of experience teaching as a fitness instructor and brings some of those elements to her practise. Her classes are well balanced between strength and surrender, softness, and edge. She incorporates many elements from her experiences to her classes. Her demeanor is peaceful and inviting for everyone.
Amongst yoga Martina enjoys spending time with her family, her husband Shaun and two girls Ava and Claudia, and their new pup Mick. She enjoys being outdoors, skiing, biking, boating, and camping. Martina plays guitar with her friends and family and loves music. Some of her favourite pastimes include cooking, reading a great book, and travelling on adventures. She loves to laugh and is grateful to spend time with people who bring joy to her life.
